{Studio Friday}

This week's topic for Friday August 25th suggested by Jo: WHO!?

"I am curious to see/hear/read who everyone takes
their inspiration from - an artist of traditional
media, multimedia, craft world, living or dead.
Who would we like to have the chance to meet and
speak with, or to thank for inspiring us? "
~ Jo

Hmm... had to give this one some thought. Artist's inspiration....
Impossible to choose only one.
At first glance, the topic seemed impossible for me. I don't have any specific artists whom I try to emulate or take my style from. I'm just me, stumbling and tumbling through the creative world. I do, however, admire all forms of artwork.
Since my main craft is scrapbooking, there is one particular scrapbooker, whom I wish would get her butt in gear and start blogging, named Laura. I absolutely adore this woman. I love her scrapbooking style, her passion for her work and her compassionate heart. She probably doesn't even know how much she inspires me, even aside from the scrapbooking. She's generous, helpful, compassionate and a true friend. I LOVE her heart and her soul and just everything about her. She's awesome.
There are 2 sisters who are a great inspiration to me as well, MaryAnn and Looney. (GET A BLOG LOONEY, WILL YA?!) MaryAnn's love of antiques and oddities and her fun style have given me inspiration on many accounts. She's got a very deep love of her family which also inspires me, especially on days when I have to go visit 'that side of the family' which sometimes I really dread. She pulls me all together with one of her family stories and makes me feel like it's all Okay. Looney has a gift of writing out exactly what she feels in her heart. She gives me such a sense of comfort, reading her emails and comments on my blogs. Her advice, comedy and spirt really moves me and gets my creative writing juices flowing.
My friend Debbie inspires me deeply as well. Her love of animals is much like my own and we connect on multi-levels. If I need a pick-me-up all I need to do is click on her blog URL and scroll down to one of her horse sketches. They really give my heart a lift! I love her fun style, awesome heart and comedy! My 4 year old ADORES her blog and begs me, every day, to visit "Debbie and Mac's Blog" (Mac being one of her horses that she blogs about on occasion.)
I don't know too much about the scrapbooking 'celebrities' so I can't even say that 'so and so' or 'what's her name' inspires me. My inspirations come from my fellow bloggers and friends who share the same passion as I do, no matter what form, genre or medium, that passion is ART!
GO GET CREATIVE!!!

So good to see you blogging again! I'd wondered where you'd disappeared to!! LOL
I'm with you--just "normal" scrapbookers can definitely inspire me! I love to sit beside someone and see HOW they create. Very inspiring!
Of "celebrities," though, I love Elsie Flannigan. Very hip and fun!
And, really great photographers inspire me as well! I love a great photograph that just TRANSPORTS me to another place!

Ha! I CAUGHT you!! You must have peeked at my blog first - no fair! :-) I've been feeling very guilty about the lack of pony art - I had written text for a posting just for Mackie before I left for AZ but didn't get to drawing the cartoon. Soon I hope. I just have my brain filled with Claudine's workshop stuff and need to get it on paper before I lose it. That's the great thing about a blog. I won't do stuff for myself, but will document for others -which means I have it for myself! Again, I can't thank you enough for all your encouragement - and for Mackie's pony enthusasim!! I sometimes think I need to give Mac his OWN blog :-). Take care and I'll get answers to the rest of your questions soon...
