{Studio Friday} Artist's Block

You've heard of writer's block. Well, as an artist I sometimes suffer from Artist's Block. 'What is this' you ask? It's when you sit and sit and can't come up with anything. This can go on for hours, days, weeks and even months sometimes. It's extremely frustrating to the point where I've left my studio, closed the doors and haven't returned for DAYS. I get angry. It feels like my mind is shutting me out and not allowing me to create and enjoy.
When this happens, I generally turn to the design team galleries at various Scrapbooking forums. Being on the design team for Time To Scrap, I do get to see a lot of inspiring layouts and altered projects and they usually can snap me out of my funk.
A long walk along the canal here also snaps me out of my funk.

Beautiful photos.

I bumped myself out of a bit of a block yesterday. All I had to do was clean off my table. :)

I know the answer to artists block. Take ALL your scrapbooking stuff and pack it away so you have no access to it. It is THEN that inspiration will hit! LOL!

Great photos - and a great way to break the block!

Bummer, I can't comment on a normal blog account anymore, because I'm beta blog! So I have to post anonymous! So here is my post for you Gabi! I love your pictures, great ways to recharge and get rid of the block, hope also the journal idea helps out. Sounds frustrating when you are blocked.

That's definitely an inspiring walk! I think I'd start making up excuses to visit the canal...

Hi Gabi,
Thanks for one of the most interesting inquiries in this forum, that I've seen since participating. It seems that walking, and taking a break, generally, from the "pressure" of coming up with that next great idea, is the key. I love learning that we're not alone in this, when we sit within our 4 walls and feel like we're the only ones struggling.
