Writer's Block Can Get A Little Frustrating

Have you ever had something to write but it just didn't come out the way you wanted it to? I have such a great story in my head and it's in desperate need of being written down. I can't seem to find the time nor the right inspiration to get it started. I've written a LOT of fan-fic and also even much more of my own stuff.
On occasion I get wicked, nasty writers block and seek inspiration from other talented writers and artists.
When you get writer's block, what do you do? Who/What do you seek for inspiration? Once you get those creative juices flowing can you stop and re-start successfully?
Tell me everything! I'm a writer, desperate to get my gears greased and back in operation!!!

Gabs... My friend, Carlilly... I COMPLETELY know where you're coming from. It happens to me all the time.

I think that sometimes, rather than a true block, the situation can be a mass overload of great ideas... you have so much floating around in your brain that you can't get it all out with enough haste and in it's intended perfection.... And that
s when the frustration sets in.

Because it's impossibly heart-wrenching when the beauty in your mind doesn't transfer immediately through your pen to the paper in front of you (or through fingers to keys to screen).

So what I do is this... I just start writing down notes in a notebook... random anything kind of notes... phrases scattered willy-nilly all over the page in a whirlwind mess... brainstorming with myself so I don't lose any of that perfect vision.

Then I go back later... usually after I've read something by an author that always inspires me... and try to put the jumbled words into some sort of rational sequence.

THEN I re-read and tweak each and every sentence... until I'm happy with with how the words sound when I read them outloud (to myself of course). I must sound like an idiot. Glad Barley (my dog) doesn't judge!

(PS - It takes me forever to write an entire page; my novel may take me year!!)

That's what I've got for now darling... truly wish I had a magic potion that would take the visions in one's mind's-eye and paste it verbatim into a computer... I'd be a millionaire! Not only from the royalties but because I know there are amazing stories in my brain that are still fighting to get out themselves.

I'd give you my potion for free though, of course. LOL. That's what framilies (friend-families) are for!!

Gabi, so happy to "see" you!!!
I usually start writting and start again and again. Sometimes I end up with 5 or 6 different starts (I ALWAYS SAVE THEM ALL!!!!) but in the end after a few attempts, the story flows!!!
Good luck telling that story!
