(Studio Friday} Autumn Inspiration

This week's Studio Friday topic for October 20th suggested by Kerri: AUTUMN INSPIRATION!

"Autumn inspiration - According to my calendar, (Sept 22) is the "Autumnal Equinox," and it's my favorite season, so show me what you love about the fall - the colors?... the leaves?...etc."

Autumn is also MY favourite season; precisely October. Not only is it the month of renewal for me, but also Halloween (Samhain) which is my absolute favourite day of the year.Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Autumn is my recharging season. I am most creative on a crisp, cool, overcast autumn day. The weather, colours and festive feelings in the air spark my creativity unlike any other season. I think it's because the colours of nature in Fall are the colours that I tend to use the most anyway.

Hi Gabi,
Your reaction to fall is the same as mine. I find it energetic and refreshing... I think that comes from childhood for me. Preparing for school to begin had a certain excitement and anticipation that I still feel even though I am long out of school.

Mom's acorn squash (not much more complicated than my brief explanation.)

Cut in halves & scoop out seeds.
place upside down in a baking pan and fill with about 3/4 inches of water. Cover with aluminum foil, and steam in the oven for about 45 minutes. Remove from oven when skins give a little when pressed with finger. (be careful not to burn finger). Drain water from pan & flip squash right up. Add dollups of butter and a teaspoonful of brown sugar to each. Re-cover with foil until butter & sugar melt. Enjoy!!

Wow, that photo took my breath away! Those colors are amazing! Our trees here are all still mostly green. Some trees are finally starting to turn this past week. But I have yet to see such color as in your photo!
Happy Halloween!

Fantastic photo! I so love autumn as well and need to make comments on your other wonderful posts. I've been gone (and heading back out of town Tuesday) and I'm REALLY behind on comments (and life in general) so I will catch up - I hope- after this next trip for work. I don't know if I'm coming or going! Love your new profile photo!

Love, love, LOVE your picture!!! I also love this particular month, not too cold, not hot at all. The only think I hate about October is that IT'S ALMOST GONE!!!! Can you believe that??? Amazing how time flies!
